The way it works is during an average trivia night it's five rounds with 10 questions each. Each correct answer will earn your team a points, which can add up to a maximum of 50 points for an unbeatable game.
But the excitement doesn't end there. In fact, the NYC Trivia League adds an additional level of challenge with its bonus points system. Every day, the top 25 teams get additional points, with the top 10 teams receiving 5 bonus points and the following 15 receiving three. Over the course of the week top teams receive bonus points and the top 25 receiving 10 and the second 25 receiving five.
In order to calculate your overall scoring in leagues, we begin by taking your score from the beginning and then adjust it to a 100-point scale considering the bonus points of 15 given each week. So, for example, a basis score 50 is multiplied by 85, and then bonus points are added in order to achieve a 100.
